Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce member luncheon
PNMTA members with interest in the subject are invited to join the luncheon — don’t forget to sign up using the link below
The August Membership Luncheon will look at the upcoming release of the BLM’s Resource Management Plan, with a special look at the plans and the items that Carson City BLM has considered related to Douglas County and the surrounding area.
We will be joined by Colleen Sievers, the Acting Associate District Manager and RMP Project Manager in the BLM Carson City District. Don Holmstrom, the new Carson City District Acting District Manager, will also be joining us.
We’ll be treated to lunch at Jethro’s, and their luncheon offerings always get rave reviews.
Carson / Tahoe Moto is a gathering of motorcycle riders. It’s a rally, with an emphasis on discovering great roads—whether you prefer pavement or dirt—and meeting new people who love motorcycling as much as you do. It’s about getting out on the road and riding—not standing around looking at bikes. – See more at: http://carsontahoemoto.com/what/#sthash.fwwhj8gv.dpuf

Spectacular views from Mt Rose to Sonora Pass and beyond with the Carson Valley directly below.
A 2,000 ft elevation climb, from roughly 8,600′ to 10,500′, following a small, steep user created trail.
Good dogs are welcome but this will most likely be a dry hike. Probably no water for dogs.
Directions From Carson Valley: Hwy 88 South to Pickets Junction in Hope Valley. Turn Right or North on Hwy 89 (toward Tahoe). Follow 89 for approximately 1.8 miles, to the old road crossing. Park on the valley side of the hwy on the paved old road. Watch the traffic as they come pretty fast down the hill from Luther Pass.
Directions from South Lake Tahoe: Hwy 89 South, approximately 9.3 miles from Hwy 50 in Meyers. The old road parking will be on the Right.
Meet at 9:00 AM.
From there we can car pool up the dirt Willow Creek Road, approximately 4.5 miles to the log deck/trail head. My car will take 7 people if two have short legs.

We have postponed this BBQ and ride, hoping to catch the fall Aspen colors on a mountain bike ride above Hope Valley on the same weekend.
Please check PNMTA calendar for ride info.
Come join the PNMTA for our fall barbecue and ride! We will be meeting in the morning on Sunday at Nate’s house. Riders will organize according to skills and vehicle type. We welcome all level riders and there will be bikes, quads, 4×4’s, and mt bikes. Nate will be tending the barbecue and we will all hang out after the ride.
Everybody should be ready to roll at 9:30. [Daylight is getting short]
Come on out!
Fall color (hopefully) Mt Bike ride, Sunday Oct 12, 2014.
Two car point to point.
Luther Pass to Christmas Valley.
We’ll be starting on a fairly new connector trail from Luther Pass to the Scott Lake Rd., then the old road from Scott Lake to Big Meadow, The Rim Trail from Big Meadow to the Christmas Valley Trail and down to the car.
This is not a killer ride, but does include fast flowing downhill, technical rocky downhill, gradual and steep climbs, some bike hiking, even a little bit of flat trail. Virtually all single track. And Aspen groves.
The two car logistics to be handled that morning depending on who shows up.
Meet at the top of Luther Pass (hwy 89), at the turn out on the south side of the road. 9:30 AM.
